Hang a mirror with its centre at eye level, roughly 150 to 160 cm off the floor. Above a console or sideboard, leave 20 to 30 cm to the top surface so the two read as one. Opposite or diagonally opposite a window, a mirror genuinely lightens a room by bouncing daylight back into it.
Use plugs suited to your wall, and fix heavy pieces into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone. For a streak-free finish, wipe with a slightly damp microfibre cloth and buff dry - spray cleaner onto the cloth, never onto the glass, so nothing runs behind the frame.
Pairs with console tables.
